Understand adaptive immunity. Improve human health.
B and T cells are critical to adaptive immunity. For decades we have studied these cells to understand their roles in human disease. But until recently, it wasn’t appreciated that these cells don’t function the same in all of us.
We believe that understanding these variations is the key to unraveling why some of us get sick, or respond better to particular treatments and vaccines.
Characterizing adaptive immune receptor repertoires (antibodies and T cell receptors) at the DNA and RNA level has the power to illuminate the most critical differences between us.
At Clareo Biosciences, we leverage immune profiling data to help better understand disease pathologies, improve diagnoses, and design more effective treatments and vaccines.
The Challenge
Current immune profiling technologies lack the resolution needed to fully characterize adaptive immune receptors at the DNA and RNA level.
As a result, links between immune function, disease pathology, and clinical outcomes are rarely reported.
This isn’t because the links aren’t there, it’s because current technologies can’t see them.
The Clareo Solution: Complete and Precise.
At Clareo, we believe better, more holistic data is the missing link to effectively use immune profiling to understand disease and to characterize individual responses to vaccines and treatments. And we believe better data means data that is both complete and precise.
Immune receptors don’t just do one thing: they have to both interact with antigens in our environment and also signal appropriately to other molecules and cells in our body. Clareo Biosciences is the first company to offer complete repertoire sequencing, allowing characterization of antibody and T cell receptor domains that correspond to both of these critical functions.
Further, by complete sequencing of immune receptor genes at the DNA level, we are able to see how genetic variation dictates antibody and T cell receptor function. Our technology is the first to allow for direct links between immune receptor transcript characterization and an individual’s genetic makeup.
